Prairie Farms has recalled certain gallons of fat-free milk, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced Nov. 26. The milk, distributed to Woodman’s Markets in Illinois and Wisconsin, may contain “food-grade cleaning agents,” which could cause illness if consumed.

Which Milk Was Recalled?

The recall affects gallons of Prairie Farms fat-free milk produced in Dubuque, Iowa, with the following identifiers:

  • Code date: DEC08
  • Plant code: PLT19-145
  • Impacted production window (timestamp): 17:51–21:23
  • UPC: 7273023117

Approximately 320 gallons of the recalled milk were sold before Prairie Farms discovered the contamination on Nov. 24, when it was alerted to a potential quality issue. The FDA report did not say whether anyone has become sick from the contaminated milk.
